Well it was a great run of fun surf, especially for summer and no hurricane in our swell window. Only bummer was seeing that my homebreak in mid-beach is pretty f'd up from all the sand they've been dumping. I feel like I've lost a friend.
The Surfrider tribe is all over fighting this junk and doing good things for our waves and beaches. Surfrider tribe gatherings are always a cool vibe, always pizza and drinks served, always the last Thursday of every month, 7pm at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.

Posted September 19th, 2007 09:10 AMWill there be waves on Friday?
UPDATE: Well it's been a nice run but the 11sec period waves on the inner canaveral bouy are gone and honestly I can't remember the last time we got 4 days of waves. Talked to folks (Abe, my man!) that got 7 seshs in on this swell. Fingers crossed that we got something in the AM.
Seems the little sneeker swell from yesterday continues. Nothing to get excited about just some thigh high peelers with an occasional waister if you give it time. I reccomend a longboard for the fun factor.
Seems the system went down this AM, hopefully the bugs are worked out.
BTW - Upcoast is looking good, though the onshores have set in.

Posted September 17th, 2007 08:30 AMIMPORTANT Mtg Tuesday Night, Sept. 18th -PROPOSED BEACH PROJECTS TO AFFECT BROWARD SURF BREAKS
INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING HALL OF FAME: MUSEUM - CELEBRATION ROOM
One Hall of Fame Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 - Ph: (954) 462-6536
Hey All, wanted to give a heads up that Broward Surfrider will have Steve Higgins, the Broward Director of Beach Management Projects, speaking at their monthly meeting. Broward is considering several projects that will affect surfbreaks from Port Everglades north to Deerfield. That means, Fort Lauderdale, 2nd Street, Silver Thatch, Tresspass, Commercial and Pompano piers along with all the secret spots in-between. Be there to let Higgins know we won't accept a crappy beach project that destroys our surfbreaks.
