Leaders hear of insurance woes, other global warming dangers

Decent article appearing in the Ledger.com regarding the Florida Cabinet climate change workshops here. One interesting quote: "The true costs of insurance along the coastlines need to be transparent, not artificially lowered by government subsidies that encourage building in fragile areas." - Tim Wagner, co-chairman of the Climate Change and Global Warming Task Force for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Sunday nite forecast - Apr 1 2007

Wow, it's been awhile since I've forecasted for Miami, but I hope to keep this a regular Sunday nite feature. I don't have the luxury of local knowledge and might not be able to call it good for a particular spot, but I don't think the recipe for good waves in Dade County has changed too much since I left. Unfortunately during that time, the wind models haven't gotten all that much better either. So excuses aside, here's how things are looking.

Open for business

I think most of the issues have been fully addressed, and the new Dade County Surf Forecast site is open for registration! Martles is hard at work transferring galleries (Thanks Bro!), I'm still working out some kinks and hopefully we won't totally throttle the server. Please email me with any problems, issues etc. I'm kinda scared since I don't totally control the server, but hey lets see how it goes for now.
