The hype machine was frothing. High pressure south of Bemuda, hurricane Dean churning under Dominican, was the machine driving the hype. South east winds blowing inland, but on the coast was another issue.
Layed over for a few days in Miami, I wanted to get wet and check up what is going on my old stomping grounds. Apart from the construction and lack of parking, nothing's changed; there were some tiny gutless waves. Borrowed a board from my lifetime pals, bro team **"Weird Al Yankovic" Manresa and Ralph **"El Loro Sabelotodo" Manresa and proceeded to have a mini surf contest that went on for three days.
**(origins of these nicknames: Weird Al, used to look like weird Al Yankovic when he had hair, now he looks like the chupacabra(sorry Al, just couldn't think of anything better), and the Loro for his incessant interjection of trvial knowledge for all events)
After scoring some crappy waves and being resoundly beaten by el LST(loro sabelotodo) in our surf off, we happened upon the Hostels inpromptu beach party and partook in some Busch beer and euro trash revelry. In any event, it felt good to see some old faces and confirm why I left Miami, waves do suck*.
*Unless of course its raging out of the South East or a North swell during the super bowl!

You are absolutely right !!!
