Surf Forecast 9-16-2013
Forecast from bradswellsPosted September 16th, 2013 09:41 AM
Humberto will be sending the upcoast beaches a long period groundswell during the work week. Winds look to be in the 10-15 kt range all week, so unfortunately, there doesn't look to be a window to surf clean conditions. Size looks to peak on Thursday, with a combo of 12/13 second east swell, with some 7 second windswell on top. It should be in the head high range, but a bit messy. Smaller again by weekend.
Additionally, the forecasts are calling for some NE winds off the Carolinas pointed in our direction, which might translate to a small bump later this week. This system followed by another about a week away that is is supposed to start out with some strong 45+kt winds, then sustain for a bit. Given the direction and duration, that swell for next week should create a bump for us down in to PB county. It's a ways off, but bears some watching.
The winds off the Carolinas look pretty good for the swell to make it down in to the Palm Beaches with orientation of fetch at NE to SW Given the way the wind is blowing already, I'd keep an eye out starting tomorrow, and keep the chance for waves through the early part of the weekend.
