Surf Forecast 4/4/2012
Forecast from bradswells
Posted April 4th, 2012 06:07 PMThere was a little swell showing upcoast today. Not quite as big as last week's swell, but it was probably worth getting wet if you had the time.
Looking forward we have a cold front coming through as we head in to the weekend. Winds will kick up on Friday and Saturday before starting to subside on Sunday. There's a good amount of North wind in this one, so we may see some little lines under the wind chop. Either way, it looks rideable for the weekend down here in Dade County.
Upcoast has the potential to be pretty good once the wind starts to die. This may happen a bit earlier up North, which may allow a Sunday evening session in cleaning up surf. Monday has a good shot at light or offshore winds up that way, too.
Not too bad of a forecast for us in April! Go get some.

Yup it was around waist to occ bigger all day in north palm beach. Wind backed off late afternoon allowing for some fun waves with nice lines. This swell was hit and miss in some spots but others really worked like a charm.. Tomorrow might have some left overs early am.
Juno Pier was waist high and clean... Very crowded, but mellow crowd ... I wish I would have brought my SUP.. I'm gonna try the next parking lot to the North next time up..Maybe Mon/tue : D
The next parking lot north is Kite Beach, Also try the next parking lot south, it breaks left and right.
I am heading up there tomorrow.
Sobe has micro south lines. It would great if the incoming tide pushed in something rideable... It's nice'n glassy and hot. Probably wishful thinking. Back to work.
Thank you ballistic.. Hope you had fun today.
Is Jupiter as consistent as Melbourne? I know it's a very general question, but it seems like there are usually waves in both places simultaneously. Any input would be appreciated.
There's ususally more swell opportuntiy in Melbourne because it's not in the Bahama wave shadow.
Surfed some fun ones today in the Stuart area. Chest/Head high clean, wobbly lines. You could find a nice corner if the right wobble came your way!
Awesome day in north palm beach today. Solid shoulder to head high waves with offshore winds all day. I coulnt believe I was in Florida. Had three sessions and the waves never got blown out or smaller. This swell turned out way better then expected. Nice to see solid waves in my own back yard yet feel like I'm on a surf trip. Might be left over mugs in am.
Off to cocoa till monday.. : D
The swell is history! "bucktwenty" buoy is reporting 0.0 swell height at 4:00am and again 6:30am Hope you got your fix of clean stuff!
Ha Ha , Br. B wants the surf all to himself. Just checked the Buoys it seems that there was some reporting issues going on but the 20 mile is showing hights with rideable swell range which was confirmed with a visual here in the northern parts of PB of set waves in the waist to chest high. Long period stuff so a little wait between the bigger sets but they are out there for the taking. Drive north and you shall score this AM!
Uh, actually, I'm home Mr. W, but OK, if you say so, brother. Have fun! ;o)
You live up there and your pretty good at giving your visual reports and are usually not an exagerator or underreporter, so...
20 mile buoy is 1.6ft - 2.0ft @ 14sec's
Here's an iPhone shot from yesterday
Cocoa is chest to overhead today.. When winds die down tomorrow it could get pretty pretty interesting.. Today was a serious workout, but there were some waves to be had. Solo sesh today.
Here's a pic of a buddy of mine in Jupiter today.
The discussion of the day: Someone want to tell me this ain't surfing???
Happy Easter Everyone, looks like the Easter bunny will give some nugs to those that choose to go upcoast. Monday am will greet leftovers with SW winds .
B man, I see that kind of boarding in Hookipa . Just a matter of time before I get in on that action. Looks so fun
Sobe is unrideable. Womp. womp
Any visuals for upcoast? Inquiring minds want to know!
MR. B that is one rad pic/maneuver....
like surfing but with turbocharger (wind) if only the sport was less
expensive and not so equipment intensive....guess those that pay
their dues learning reap the rewards......
Very fun day up here. Solid chest to head today with some winds but some clean nugs around once in a while.
Surfed up in the Jupiter area yesterday afternoon. Wind was on it a bit, but it wasn't too chopped up. Groundswell showing in the waist to shoulder high range. Pretty damn fun! Wish I could've stayed upcoast to catch the leftovers this morning...
Fun,glassy leftovers in Pierce this morning. It was crowded.Hope some were caught by my fellow riders from down south.Swell looks like it is on the way down now.
brad surfs, hehehehehe. Sunday was funky cause the wind was on it like brad said.but the swell was funked out too, breaken way outside, but not really breaken. for sure was kinda wierd, out side, mid, inside, it all was funky! maybe cause the wind, who knows. caught some fun rides @ the cove in the afternoon.
but today was firering @ only the prime spots, yep!
Hey I surfed cove late Sunday afternoon before dark and some fun sets were coming in fo sure. Surfed it last night with smaller but fun size too.
ya didnt c ya W, i took the walk with some friends, almost ta blow hole. the sets were way outside, which i paddeled out too. caught 1 out there n just bout stepped off on the beach, or more like the rocks just befor the beach, lol. i got out n watched for a few cause i got cold. the boys got out n said they seen a big shark! hehehe. was worth the walk, out front was week n mushy. i was bout ta head out to the pier, till the boys showed up.
whent back monday a.m. n it was breaken on the beach. so hang @ the prime brake n caught a few, an watched the local kids rip it up. hey, just a few days at the beach, when its good to be a surfer, yep
Yeah we were the lazy bunch and walked up half way between tower and blow hole but it was later in afternoon so the outside waves had more punch. Real good session with head high outsider sets and only 5 guys out and most were my buddies. Love that place when the tide is right. The waves were long but the paddle back out seemed longer. Hope we get something like that again before summer kicks in.
